VIDEO: Apple Cider Oatmeal Recipe

Learn how to make apple oatmeal with SPE Certified Executive Chef Anthony Moraes.

Apple Cider Oatmeal

 

Makes 6 servings

1 ½ cups apple cider
1 ½ cups water
1 apple, chopped
1 pear, chopped
1 cup old fashioned oats
¼ cup raisins
¼ cup walnuts, chopped
2 tsp cinnamon
½ cup non-fat Greek yogurt
2 tbsp chia seeds

Directions


Bring apple cider and water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Add the oats, apples and pears. Reduce heat to a simmer.

Add the cinnamon and chia seeds and stir. Cover the pot and cook 5-6 minutes, stirring from time to time.

Once the oatmeal is cooked and tender, add the raisins, walnuts and yogurt.

Mix well, then cover the pot for 5 minutes to plump the raisins.
