Summer Melon Granita Recipe

Cool off with this refreshing, 50-calorie melon granita recipe.

There are few things more refreshing than an ice-cold granita on a summer's day. Next time you're spending some time outside in the heat or craving something cool and refreshing, try this healthy recipe!

Makes 12 servings


8 cups honeydew melon, diced
1 tbsp lime juice
Zest of one lime
2 fl oz tequila 
½ cup simple syrup*

*Optional- if melon is ripe, it should be sweet enough

Directions


In a large bowl, purée the melon.

Add the lime juice, zest and tequila.

Freeze in a shallow dish for 45 minutes to an hour. The melon should be not fully frozen.

Shave with spoon and serve. Garnished with a fresh wedge of lime.
